Caroline’s Converse All-Stars are more than just sneakers—they are a reflection of her journey toward self-expression and comfort. Inspired by a video about how shoes can speak volumes about a person, she sought out the perfect pair that would truly express who she is. Since then, she’s never looked back.

Her original pair lasted two years, worn so much that they eventually fell apart. The next pair is already showing signs of being lived in—ripped, drawn on, and covered with details that tell the story of her life. These shoes are as much about self-expression as they are about comfort, something she gets to wear every day as a reminder of her growth.

To Caroline, these shoes symbolize a blend of protection, travel, and the freedom to express herself. They bring her back to her childhood, when she’d explore the woods and run around the lake behind her grandparents’ house—moments of freedom and adventure that shaped her.

These shoes have taken Caroline everywhere, and she hardly leaves home without them. For her, they represent the struggle of learning to be comfortable with herself, a struggle she continues to navigate. But with every step, they remind her that if she pushes through her anxieties, she can be the person she’s always dreamed of becoming.

While her shoes aren’t customized, Caroline always opts for the platform version—adding a little extra height to give her that boost of confidence she needs.

Garrett has always felt most at home outdoors. As a kid, he’d wake up early to finish his homework just so he could spend every possible moment outside until the sun disappeared behind the trees. That hasn’t changed much. Now, working in construction and living on a farm, his boots are the only shoes that make sense for his life.
Covered in Georgia red clay and dust from the job site, his boots have been through it all—early morning hunts, long days in the field, Sundays at church with his family, and the daily grind of farm chores. They are worn, well-loved, and a perfect reflection of the life he’s built—one rooted in hard work, nature, and a deep connection to the land.

About Kate’s Shoes
Kate’s black-and-white Converse Chuck Taylors are more than just a pair of sneakers—they are a connection to every chapter of her life. She first slipped into them around the 6th grade, likely inspired by a Kurt Cobain image, and since then, they’ve become her signature. From adolescence to adulthood, these shoes have been with her through it all.

Kate’s fourth or fifth pair of Chucks, still low-tops and classic, are now a part of her identity. While she’s branched out with other shoes for comfort, these sneakers still bring her back to her roots, giving her the confidence she had in high school. They are a reminder of the person she’s always been and the person she continues to grow into.

These shoes have carried her through more than just concerts and art shows. They’ve traveled with her across the world—from Jamaica to Bolivia, Peru, and Mexico—while also marking significant moments in her life. She wore them when she walked onto her college campus for the first time and when she learned she was pregnant at nineteen. A year later, she bought a tiny pair for her daughter, sharing the legacy of those shoes.

Kate’s Chucks are with her as she continues her journey—creating art, traveling, and making memories with her kids and her soon-to-be husband. They remind her that each step is a part of something bigger, something unforgettable.
