Jamie Ballay is a Painter living and working in Atlanta, GA. Whether figurative, landscape, or still life his work explores the spaces between realism and abstraction.

He earned a BFA in painting from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. While there he was selected to study at the Yale Norfolk Summer Scholarship for painters. He is a recipient of a Warhol Scholarship to study at the New York Academy of Art. 

After finishing his studies he worked as a framer and installer, a billboard painter, always continuing to paint and draw. In the early 1990’s he found his professional home in commercial photography. Serving advertising and corporate design clients in St. Louis and later in Atlanta. 

In 2005 he took a career break to focus on raising a family. He returned to his current concentration on Painting in 2017. He continues to pursue his personal vision, playing in the intersection of figuration and abstraction.
