Biography

Lisa Thomas is a self-taught photographer based in Atlanta, Georgia, known for her unique and abstract imagery. Originally from Virginia, she earned a degree in physical therapy from the University of Oklahoma and has dedicated over 25 years to the healthcare industry. In 2020, seeking a creative outlet during a time of social isolation, Thomas picked up a camera and discovered a new passion that would redefine her journey.

What began as a way to document the world around her soon evolved into a fascination with
abstraction and creative expression. Her current project, Studies in Oil and Water, explores the
captivating interplay of these two elements, magnified through a macro lens and brought to life with bold backdrops. Her work transforms simple materials into striking compositions full of energy, color, and light.

Thomas’s signature style blends playful experimentation with thoughtful artistry, resulting in images that feel both uplifting and visually captivating. Her photography invites viewers to pause, dream, and see the world in unexpected ways—a reminder that even the smallest moments can reveal beauty and inspiration.
